MINUTE entry before the Honorable John Robert Blakey: Plaintiff initially filed a complaint seeking to sue 93 separate defendants in this single trademark infringement suit, see [1], [2]. Once the case was assigned to this Court, however, Plaintiff filed an amended complaint, naming just one defendant, [10] and then immediately dismissed the case, see [11]. The case here is thus dismissed without prejudice. But the Court cautions Plaintiff, given the timing of the amendment and the dismissal, that any attempt to initiate a new matter, seeking to assert the same intellectual property rights against the same identified defendants before a different judge, constitutes egregious forum shopping, e.g., Marshall Amplification PLC v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A, No. 1:25-cv-13829, at [22] (N.D. Ill. Jan. 12, 2026); Julie Stiebritz v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A, No. 1:25-cv-03459, at 19 (N.D. Ill. Apr. 9, 2025), which may not only result in dismissal with prejudice, but potentially in sanctions. Civil case terminated. Mailed notice.
