MINUTE entry before the Honorable Martha M. Pacold: Plaintiff's motion [14] to proceed under seal is denied. Proceeding under seal is extraordinary. Plaintiff has not identified circumstances warranting such extraordinary relief. See generally Eicher Motors Ltd. v. P'ships & Unincorporated Ass'ns Identified on Schedule "A", No. 25-CV-02937, 2025 WL 2299593 (N.D. Ill. Aug. 8, 2025). Plaintiff's motion [18] for electronic service of process is denied. In support of its motion, plaintiff seems to indicate that it ascertained a potential address for defendants but vaguely suggests that it could not verify the address. The court does not, then, have the degree of confidence necessary to permit service via email. See Mullane v. Cent. Hanover Bank & Tr. Co., 339 U.S 306, 319 (1950); Kangol LLC v. Hangzhou Chuanyue Silk Imp. & Exp. Co., 177 F.4th 793, 799 (7th Cir. 2026). Plaintiff, therefore, shall attempt physical service, and if that proves unsuccessful, plaintiff may renew its motion for electronic service. Plaintiff shall file a status report on the progress of service by 9/4/2026. Mailed notice.
